Artist-Scholar & Black Performance Theorist
Dr. Mysia Anderson-White (she/her) is an assistant professor of Black Performance Theory in the Department of Theatre & Dance at UC San Diego. A Miami, Florida native, she earned her BA from Stanford University's African and African American Studies program before completing her PhD in Theatre Arts and Performance Studies at Brown University. Dr. Anderson-White's scholarly work spans Black feminisms, Black Studies, Black Performance Theory, and Environmental Humanities, employing critical ethnography, embodied practice, and archival methodologies in her research.
